Description
Eliasberg's Near-Gem Small E's
1823/2 Dime, JR-1
1823/2 10C Small E's MS64 NGC. Ex: Eliasberg. JR-1, R.3.
This is the only variety with small E's in the reverse legend.
Mottled violet and silver-gray mix across the surfaces of this
lustrous specimen. The strike is nearly full, and there are no
marks of any significance. Over time, the two distinct varieties of
this year have gained recognition, and both Small and Large E's
types are now listed in the Guide Book.Ex: Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Collection (Bowers and Merena, 5/1996), lot 1071.
