    Description

    1829 Curl Base 2 Dime, Good 6
    JR-10, FS-301, Famous Rarity

1829 10C Curl Base 2, JR-10, FS-301, R.6, Good 6 PCGS. 1829 dimes are relatively plentiful, with the exception of the rarest die marriage for the date, JR-10, which also happens to be the sole pairing with a Curl Base 2 in the date. A key Guide Book variety, the Curl Base 2 is almost always encountered well worn. The present example is mostly stone-white but displays charcoal-gray in protected areas, similar to the color scheme seen on circulated 1916-D dimes. The Y in LIBERTY is full and five other letters are partial. The L is absent but UNUM is readable. The peripheral legends are bold and all stars are distinct from the rim. (NGC ID# 9BHH, Variety PCGS# 38836, Base PCGS# 4512)
