    Description

    Large Denomination JR-2 1829 Dime
    Pleasingly Toned Premium Gem

1829 10C Large 10C MS66 PCGS. JR-2, R.2. Not specifically labeled as such on the first-generation PCGS holder, but plain on attribution. The JR-2 is the more available of two Large Denomination die pairs, though undeniably a condition rarity in better-than-Gem grades. This MS66 coin has effusive luster and a decidedly above-average strike. Green-gold overtones grace each side but are richer on the obverse. An impressively preserved coin and clearly Condition Census-worthy, though exactly where it lands is uncertain. The PCGS Population Report lists one MS66 Large Denomination example and one finer, in MS67 (1/12), though this coin, certified under what is now the Small Denomination PCGS number, is not listed as a Large Denomination coin in the Report.
