1831 JR-1 Dime, MS61
Original Border Toning
1831 10C JR-1, R.1, MS61 NGC. CAC. Sea-green and
russet-brown toning invigorates the borders of this nicely struck
and satiny Bust dime. No marks are of individual notice, and the
eye appeal is pleasing for the MS61 level. Neither the obverse die,
nor the reverse die, for JR-1 struck other varieties. Nonetheless,
JR-1 is presumed to be the first 1831 die marriage, since proofs
are known.Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2012), lot 8291.
