1832 Capped Bust Dime, MS65
High-Grade JR-4 Example
1832 10C JR-4, R.3, MS65 PCGS. CAC. While Obverse 3 was used
on other varieties this year, the Reverse C pairing is distinctive
with the wide spacing between SO, identifying the JR-4 variety. The
JR-4 variety is one of seven known die marriages for the year, and
all seven are similar in rarity. Four of those are rated R.3 and
the other three are R.2. This is a lovely Gem example with olive
and pale gray color over satiny silver luster. Population (for the
date): 18 in 65 (1 in 65+), 4 finer. CAC: 10 in 65, 2 finer
