Stunning 1832 Half Dime, V-1, LM-3, MS67 ★

1832 H10C MS67 ★ NGC. V-1, LM-3, R.1. Star 12 on the obverse is recut, and on the reverse an arrowhead touches the last A of AMERICA. The top flag of the 5 is a blunt, short triangle, and there is no recutting on the O of OF. Although this is an available variety, the present piece is numerically tied for the finest certified of the date at NGC, and the only MS67 coin given the well-deserved Star designation. This is a stunning piece that clearly boasts original "skin" from the 177 years since its production. The glorious, mark-free pinkish-gold central obverse is surrounded by lavish, iridescent cobalt-blue, with the reverse equally compelling but lacking the blue periphery. The strike is bold throughout, and a nicer example can scarcely be imagined. A wonderful type coin or a prize for the Bust half dime specialist.(Registry values: N4719)
