Description
Stunning MS66 1836 Half Dime, V-6, LM-5
1836 H10C Small 5C MS66 NGC. V-6, LM-5, R.2. Representing the penultimate year of the series, this half dime can be a showcase for a high-end type set. Splashes of azure and copper highlight the obverse, while the reverse displays crimson, sky-blue, and copper patina. The strike is sharp, and the surfaces are clean. Clash marks appear on the obverse both before and behind Liberty's head, between the date and the lower bust, and in the reverse fields, as frequently seen on this variety. Although this coin is unattributed by NGC, that service currently shows only two MS65 LM-5s that are attributed, and none finer. PCGS shows one Small 5 1836 in MS66 (all varieties), with two finer (7/08).(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 4288, GSID# 3750)
