Description

1830 V-1, LM-14 Half Dime, MS66
Sharp Strike, Lustrous and Original

1830 H10C V-1, LM-14, R.3, MS66 PCGS. CAC. It took 14 die marriages to strike the 1830-dated half dime mintage, which is either a variety collector's delight or nightmare, depending on how things are viewed. Thankfully, the LM-14 die pair is a snap to identify, since the position of the scroll in relation to the second T in STATES is far different than any other 1830 half dime variety. The upright of the second T in STATES sits precisely above the left upright of the second U in PLURIBUS. The final A in AMERICA touches the arrowhead below. This is a lustrous and clearly original Premium Gem example of LM-14, with dappled bluish-gray toning accenting the frosted silver surfaces. The high numeric grade and CAC endorsement recognize the sharp strike from fresh dies.
