Description

Vibrant 1811 Large 8 Half, O-103a, MS66

1811 50C Large 8 MS66 NGC. O-103a, R.4. The variety is scarce overall, and this very scarce die state is distinguished by a prominent obverse die crack that passes between the 18 and 11 of the date and reaches the oval clasp of Liberty's drapery. The 1811 Large 8 subtype is elusive in most grades and a rarity at so high a level of Mint State. This Premium Gem is boldly detailed, and immense luster shines through the aqua, green-gold, and peach patina that embraces each side. Highly desirable and particularly attractive. Among 1811 Large 8 halves not specifically attributed by NGC, Census: 13 in 66, 4 finer (9/08).(Registry values: N1)
