    Scarce O-112, Small 8

    1811 50C Small 8, O-112, Low R.4 -- Struck 10% Off Center -- VF25 NGC. Off center toward 10 o'clock. Nearly all of UNITED is absent. A glossy and somewhat wavy sea-green and lavender example. Surprisingly free from marks, save for a small tick near star 10. The radial die crack through star 9 is the pick-up point for the elusive O-112.
    Ex: Stewart Witham, 4/1992; Russell J. Logan Collection (Bowers and Merena, 11/2002), lot 2272, which realized $4,140.
