Description
1812/1 50C Small 8 AU58 PCGS. O-102a, R.2. The overdate obverse with a Small 8. Clashed dies are noted, along with a fine die crack from the second 1 to the upright of the overdated 1.This splendid near-Mint example has fully lustrous silver surfaces with only a trace of wear on the high points. Both sides have ivory centers with lovely peripheral gold and iridescent toning. Mint State and near-Mint examples of the O-102 die marriage in any die state are infrequently encountered.
