Wide Date, Small 8
1812/1 50C Small 8 MS63 PCGS Secure. O-102, R.2. Beautiful
golden-brown and russet toning is bounded by freckles of
apple-green patina. This lustrous representative shows some
softness on the upper left stars, but the strike is generally
sharp. From moderately clashed dies, but the surfaces are
refreshingly unmarked. The Overton-102 receives a Guide Book
listing all to itself, since it is the sole Small 8 overdate
variety of the year. Population: 6 in 63, 2 finer (9/12).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24EY, PCGS# 6101, Greysheet# 6231)
