Description

1812 Half Dollar, O-103, MS63
Triple-Struck in Collar

1812 50C -- Triple-Struck in Collar -- MS63 PCGS. O-103, R.1. Die lines east of the drapery clasp on the obverse and west of the eagle's neck confirm the die pair. Two ghostly impressions of lips and a chin appear on Liberty's lower cheek, confirming this coin was triple-struck in the collar. Modest golden toning overall with strongest at the right reverse. Surfaces are frosty from considerable die erosion.
