Description

1813 O-103'a' Half Dollar, MS62
Interesting Late Die State

1813 50C O-103, R.1, MS62 NGC. In this late die state of 1813 O-103'a', the 3 in the date is partially filled from a die chip, and the drawn obverse stars and reverse lettering display considerable die erosion. Light silver-gray centers transition to a deeper golden-gray towards the rims. Miss Liberty has nice definition of hair curls, while the left wing has softness in detail from the late die state. Small contact marks on the portrait and eagle are unobtrusive. Good luster in the fields on this splendid specimen of the 1813 Overton 103'a' half dollar die marriage.
