Description

Beautiful Gem 1813 Half Dollar, O-106

1813 MS 65 NGC. O-106, R.2. A well executed coin, the devices are especially sharp in their definition, and mint luster can be seen under a moderate coating of natural rose and steel-gray toning. Blue-green patina shows at the margins. One would normally expect that such a lofty grade on an early date in the Bust half series would qualify it as finest known. However, for some unexplained reason a fair number of high grade 1813 survivors are known. Population: 5 in 65 with 3 finer (11/98).

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24EZ, PCGS# 6103, Greysheet# 6152)

Weight: 13.48 grams

Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
