Description
1814 Capped Bust Half, Pleasing MS63
O-109, Widest Date of All Varieties
1814 50C O-109, R.2, MS63 NGC. A lustrous, Select
Uncirculated example of the O-109 variety with faint die clashing
on both sides. Attractive iridescent toning blends with olive-gold
and sea-green shades that cover both sides of the coin. A few light
marks are noted on the otherwise smooth surfaces including a nick
and a hair-thin line at the eagle's neck and right wing junction,
and a few small marks in the left obverse field. The primary motifs
are sharply struck, and bright mint luster at the margins reveals
moderate weakness at the dentils from die wear.Ex: Sheridan Downey (1/1994).
