Description
1814 50C XF40 ANACS. O-105a, R.4. This is an interestingly toned piece with cobalt, charcoal, and orange-russet colors sprinkled around the peripheries. The centers exhibit a mostly steel-gray sheen through which modest glossiness shines at most angles. This variety was produced from a die pair that was reworked to remove all but a few clashmarks. Those that remain include bold shield stripes on the obverse around Liberty's ear.
