Description

1815/2 Bust Half Dollar, XF Details
Important O-101 Variety

1815/2 50C --Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. XF. O-101, R.2. Only 47,150 Bust halves were struck in 1815, with only one die variety known for the date. An unused die from 1812 was employed to create this interesting overdate, and examples have been prized by collectors from the earliest days of the hobby. The present coin has silvery surfaces, with hints of green and gold. The fields are somewhat overbright from a past cleaning, but much original detail remains on all devices. This example should appeal to date and type collectors alike.(Registry values: N2998)
