Description
1815/2 Half Dollar, Rose-Gray XF45
Key Date With Bold Eye Appeal and CAC
1815/2 50C O-101a, R.3, XF45 PCGS. CAC. The later state of
the 1815/2 reverse die is identified by the numerous die cracks
appearing near the rims and connecting many of the devices. Some
clashing from the obverse appears as well. This key date consisted
of 47,150 pieces, all struck from the single O-101 die pair. This
Choice XF example is certified in an old small-size PCGS holder.
Bright luster complements the silver-rose surfaces, imparting bold
eye appeal and eminent collectibility. This piece was described in
the Chalkley Collection as being "especially well struck in the
centers," which we agree with. Needless to say, this is a coin that
many Bust half nuts would love to add to their collections. For the
1815/2, CAC: 13 in 45, 21 finer (7/16).Ex: Thomas S. Chalkley Collection (Superior, 1/28/1990), lot 3479.
