1815/2 50C --Plugged, Improperly Cleaned--NCS. VF Details. O-101, High R.2. The only die marriage known. With a mintage (47,150 pieces) many multiples lower than every other Capped Bust half dollar, the 1815/2 is by far the scarcest issue in the series. Myriad abrasions cover the surfaces of this pale silver-gray example. The plug above Liberty does not affect the obverse details, but the denomination on the reverse has been poorly re-engraved. Verdigris obscures some tooling in the field above Liberty, and also partially covers the cap.
