Colorful Hues, Few Abrasions

1817 50C O-109, R.3, AU55 PCGS. BHNC Die State 109.1, the only known die state. Blue-steel fields are complemented with steel-gray and mustard in the protected areas. The mustard tones are more prominent on the reverse, with some sage and rose hues intermingled in. Abrasions are minimal, and strike is strong. The O-109 is of moderate rarity in a year with world-class rarities (1817/4 O-102) and very common die marriages (O-103).
