Description

Lovely 1820 Half Dollar, O-107, Choice Very Fine

1820 50C No Serifs on Es VF35 NGC. O-107, R.5. This scarce and interesting variety is easily distinguished because none of the A's have right serifs and likewise all of the E's are missing their left serifs. Pale gray patina endows the surfaces of this evenly worn specimen. Traces of luster remain in the protected areas, which is remarkable given the grade. Scattered abrasions and a tiny spot below the eagle's head keep this charming piece from a higher grade.
