Description
1820 O-105 Half Dollar, MS62
Large Date, Square Base/Knob 2
1820 50C Square Base 2, Large Date, Knob, O-105, R.1, MS62
PCGS. Sharing the same obverse as the scarce O-104 variety,
this O-105 Square Base/Knob 2 example is best identified by the
reverse. The D in UNITED is properly aligned (not too low as on the
O-104) and a triple dentil opposite the leftmost pair of olive
leaves on the reverse confirms the O-105 variety. Rose highlights
visit the powder-gray surfaces with silver luster shining through.
The strike is sharp with just a few small marks, none of which are
really significant. Population (all Square 2, Large Date, Knob 2
varieties): 5 in 62, 8 finer (4/16).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FD, Variety PCGS# 39567, Base PCGS# 6122, Greysheet# 194238)
