Description

Attractive 1822 Half Dollar, O-105, MS63

1822 50C MS63 NGC. O-105, R.3. This is the only use of this reverse, which has several diagnostic die dots to the right of the eagle's neck. A delicate die crack extends through OF AMERIC and is often seen in various stages on this variety. Accents of gold around the perimeter mix with the mottled slate and silver-gray patina that covers the remainder of the surfaces. The strike is bold, and there are no marks of any significance. Plenty of luster throughout gives this piece excellent eye appeal.
