1822 50C MS66 NGC. CAC. O-110, R.2. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Here is an incredible Premium Gem, with accents of deep violet and golden-brown toning highlighted by radiant mint luster on both sides. More than 1.5 million Capped Bust half dollars were struck in 1822, using a combination of 14 obverse and 14 reverse dies to produce 15 die varieties for the date. One other NGC MS66 is known for this die pair [O-110a], last appearing (but unsold) in ANR's Baltimore sale of November 2004, lot 7430.
