1823 50C Broken 3 AU50 PCGS. O-101, R.3. Richly draped in tan-brown and cobalt-blue. Luster glimmers from design crevices. The devices display moderate wear. No marks are apparent. A popular Guide Book variety. The 3 in the date was eventually repaired by a mint worker to create the O-101a Patched 3 variety.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FJ, PCGS# 6132, Greysheet# 6173)
