Description

1823 O-105 Half Dollar, Lustrous MS62
Old Green Label Holder

1823 50C O-105, R.1, MS62 PCGS. CAC. The stars are large with several showing die erosion that brings them to the rim. The O-105 variety displays interesting center dots on each side, where the obverse has a tiny indented dot on the neck, and the reverse presents a large, isolated dot at the left end of crossbar 4. A die crack runs from 50C through the arrowheads, continuing through MERICA. The top arrowhead nearly touches the last A. This is a highly lustrous, silvery coin with a slight touch of pastel color near the rims on both sides. The strike through the centers is quite sharp. A few scattered, minor ticks are in concert with the grade. Certified in a small-size PCGS green-label holder, purchased as O-110 but it is the O-105 variety.
Ex: Private purchase from House of Stuart (12/1988).
