Description

1826 50C MS61 NGC. O-114, High R.4. This obverse is also used for O-113, so this variety can best be identified by the reverse. The denticles on the obverse of O-114, however, are typically flat, which is a good indication of the variety. On the reverse, the upper angle of the N in UNITED is partially filled, and there is a tiny center dot between crossbars 3 and 4. The fields are exceptionally clean on this bright, light gray representative, which exhibits impressive luster throughout. The milling and stars are flat, as usual, and the outermost tips of the stars and letters are fading into the rims, which is typical of this late die state. (Registry values: N991)
