Description
Lustrous Gem 1826 Half Dollar, O-105
1826 50C MS65 NGC. O-105, R.3. As Overton describes it, the date is tall and close, and the 2 has a needlelike point. A die crack connects all of the left-side stars. On the reverse several of the vertical stripes extend upward into the horizontal bars. Much luster proceeds from underneath a light layer of patina on this piece, with powder-gray, pink, and hazel dominating. The strike is bold, and some of the stars are drawn toward the edge through moderate die erosion.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FM, PCGS# 6143, GSID# 6182)
