Description

1827 Bust Half Dollar, MS64
O-105, Square Base 2, Recut 5

1827 50C Square Base 2, O-105, R.3, MS64 PCGS. A double tip on the flag of 5 in 50C is the confirming characteristic of the O-105 variety, combined with its T-I alignment. This is a sparkling near-Gem Uncirculated example, with a halo of pale-gold toning at the margins and brilliant, virtually mark-free centers. The central devices are needle-sharp, while the right-side stars are mostly flat as are stars 1 and 8 (typical of the O-105 dies). This coin sits just below the Condition Census for the variety.
