Description

1827 Square Base 2 Half, O-107, MS64
Mid-Condition Census Coin

1827 50C Square Base 2, O-107, R.3, MS64 PCGS. Star positions determine the obverse of this scarce variety, showing a large well-formed date with 27 slightly more closely spaced than the remaining digits. Several of the obverse stars are drawn to the border. The second T in STATES is noticeably lower than A and E at both its top and bottom. Radiant luster is blatant throughout both sides of this unabraded coin,
certified in a green-label holder. Light golden patina complements the strong strike and excellent eye appeal. This piece would appear to be within the mid-Condition Census for the variety.
Ex: Private purchase from Allstate Coin Co. (4/1992).
