Description

1827 O-120a Half Dollar, MS65
Illuminating Peripheral Toning

1827 50C Square Base 2, O-120a, R.2, MS65 PCGS. Lilac-silver surfaces are highlighted with hints of sunrise-yellow, sage-green, and russet-orange at the periphery. Strike is excellent. The characteristic die lines in front of the bust narrow the search to the O-120 or the extremely rare O-149, of which the latter is eliminated due to the space between the AT in STATES. The presence of cracks atop UNITED STATES separates the present O-120a from the prime O-120.
