Description

1827 Half Dollar, Fair 2 CAC
Very Rare O-148 Die Marriage
'Dotted Beak' Variety

1827 50C Square Base 2, O-148, R.6, Fair 2 PCGS. CAC. Although many diagnostics are worn smooth, enough survive to confirm this coin is the elusive Overton-148 Dotted Beak variety. The die dot above the eagle's beak enlarges and fades with die use, minimizing its appearance. PCGS and CAC agree this long-circulated example deserves PCGS encapsulation and CAC endorsement, with this exact example on Steve Herrman's Autumn 2025 listing. The PCGS Population is: 1 in FR02, 7 finer. (11/25).
