1827/6 50C MS65 NGC. O-102, R.1. Die crumbling near the final A in AMERICA identifies this Overton pairing, one of 49 known for the date. This sharply struck and satiny Gem is richly toned in forest-green and golden-brown. The reverse appears unabraded, and the obverse has only minor toned-over contact near star 1. The combined NGC Census for the three 1827/6 varieties is 4 in 65, 3 finer (5/08).
