Description

1827/6 MS 60 Lightly Cleaned. O-102, R.1. The smooth surfaces are disrupted by a few small contact marks most evident in the field below the eagle's left (facing) wing. Atypical brightness in the reverse fields is indicative of an old cleaning but the piece has since retoned a charcoal-gray color with splashes of blue, lavender, and gold. The denticles are weak in places and the stars are drawn to the rims. A nice example of one of Al C. Overton's interesting varieties.
