Description
Outstanding 1828 O-114 Half Dollar, MS65
1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8, Large Letters MS65 NGC. O-114, R.3. Attributable by star 13, which is lightly joined to a curl, and peripheral die cracks on the reverse. Even though a fairly common variety, this piece must surely be one of the finest known at the MS65 level. This is a sharply defined example that has bright mint luster with an overlay of golden-rose toning that deepens and includes royal blue around scattered parts of the peripheries. An outstanding high-grade Bust half.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FR, PCGS# 6151, GSID# 6189)
