1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8, Small Letters AU58 NGC. O-119, R.3. This scarce die pair, the only one to have a Small 8 and Small Letters, is identified by the recutting on STATES, most notably on the A, which is visible on this coin without magnification. Bright silver surfaces have minimal golden peripheral toning and light rub on the high points.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 6152, Greysheet# 6190)
