Description

1828 50C Square Base 2, Small 8s, Small Letters, O-119, R.3, MS63 PCGS. CAC. Recutting on STATES is most visible on the A, which is widely recut with the former A far to the left of the primary letter. The O-119 is highly sought as the sole 1828 variety with Small 8s, Small Letters, and a Square Base 2. Softly lustrous, dappled bluish-gray toning yields to golden mint luster around the raised elements. A sharp and virtually unmarked Select Uncirculated example, with claims to an even finer grade. CAC endorse, housed in an old green label holder.
