1829 50C Small Letters MS65 PCGS. O-112, R.1. Twenty die
varieties are known for the 1829 Capped Bust half dollar, utilizing
combinations of 11 obverse and 16 reverse dies. The coin offered
here shows the parallel die lines below star 13 that indicate the
available O-112 variety.The present coin is a spectacular Gem, with an eye-catching patina of gold, sea-green, cerulean-blue, and gray hues. Vibrant mint luster shines beneath the toning, and only a few minor contact marks are evident. The design elements are sharply detailed in all areas, except for a touch of flatness on the upper stars. Eye appeal is outstanding. Housed in a green label holder.
