Description
Prooflike MS64 1829/7 Half Dollar, O-102
1829/7 50C MS64 NGC. O-102, R.2. The upright of the digit 7 appears beneath the right side of the 9 in the date, yet there is virtually no trace of the top of the 7, which is why this overdate was described as "1829/1" for many years. This example is fully prooflike, with mirrored fields visible beneath deep gold and steel-blue toning. A few prooflike examples of this variety are known, although the literature describes no proofs.(Registry values: N4719)
