Description
Lovely 1830 O-119 Medium 0 Half, MS63
1830 50C Medium 0 MS63 PCGS. O-119, R.1. Incorrectly described as a Small 0 on the holder. One of the common varieties of 1830, yet elusive in Mint State grades. This example probably ranks as one of the 10 finest representatives of the die marriage. There are three distinct sizes of the 0 in the date, called Small, Medium, and Large, although usually only the Small 0 and Large 0 are recognized. The Small 0 is smaller than the adjacent 3, the Medium 0 is about the same size as the 3, and the Large 0 is taller than the 3. Lustrous ivory and cream with champagne and iridescent toning on both sides. A wonderful example. (Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FU, PCGS# 6156, GSID# 6195)
