1831 50C MS62 NGC. O-110, R.2. The 18 is noticeably higher than the 31 in the date, and the stars are typically drawn to the edge, which is diagnostic for this obverse die. On the reverse, the base of the A in STATES is noticeably lower than the second T. Dramatic gold, blue, and violet toning endows the obverse, which contrasts sharply against the mostly brilliant reverse. Several stars are soft, as usual, but the rest of the details are powerfully impressed.
