Description
1832 50C MS 61 ANACS. Small Letters. O-115, R.1. A readily obtainable variety, this die pairing is identifiable by the lower position of the 3 in relation to the 182 in the date. Despite a few mildly distracting contact marks in the field below the bust and before Liberty's chin, the balance of this piece is quite smooth for the grade and displays rich, original slate-gray patination over its nicely frosted surfaces. While the strike is noteworthy for the series, we call attention to weakness on stars 1 through 7 as well as the top of UNITED STATES.
