1834 O-102 Half Dollar, MS65+
CAC-Approved Large Date, Large Letters

1834 50C Large Date, Large Letters, O-102, R.1, MS65+ PCGS. CAC. Light-gray surfaces are complemented with highlights of russet-brown and steel-blue on both sides. Slight striking weakness is confined to the uppermost curls on the obverse and the inner feathers just left of the shield on the reverse. As collectors of the series know, there are three major varieties of 1834 half dollars. The O-102 is one of three varieties of the Large Date, Large Letters type, made before the introduction of a new set of punches for both design elements later in the year.
