Glorious Gem 1834 O-106 Half Dollar
Large Date, Small Letters
1834 50C Large Date, Small Letters MS65 NGC. O-106, R.1. The
large 4 in the date is crudely recut over a smaller 4, with part of
the initial crossbar showing. On the reverse the left side of the M
in AMERICA is curved, recut, and joined to the center. This is a
glorious Gem with original sky-blue patina encircling the rims and
complementing the pinkish-lilac centers. Some of the segments on
the obverse rim are joined, as made, at 2:30, apparently due to a
slight axial die misalignment.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 6165, GSID# 6206)
