Lustrous, Variegated Toning
1834 50C Small Date, Small Letters, O-109, R.1, MS64 PCGS.
Stars 8, 9, and 10 show recutting and a double segment above the
last S in STATES help identify the variety. Both sides of this
near-Gem example show shades of gunmetal-blue, autumn-brown, and
reddish-gold over steely silver surfaces with strong mint luster.
The strike is razor-sharp throughout. The Condition Census for
O-109 ranges from MS67 to MS65 -- a typically well-produced Small
