Description

Near-Gem 1835 Half Dollar, O-102
Attractively Toned

1835 50C MS64 NGC. O-102, R.3. Dusky peach-gold toning endows most of this coruscating Choice half, though the margins offer narrow bands of cobalt-blue and ruby-red. The strike is precise except for soft radials on stars 7 through 10. Nearly unabraded aside from a few faint marks on the cheek. O-101 and O-102 are similar but can be distinguished by the 5 in the date. Relative to O-101, O-102 has a flat top 5 placed further from the 3.(Registry values: N2998)
