Near-Gem 1835 Half Dollar, O-102
Attractively Toned
1835 50C MS64 NGC. O-102, R.3. Dusky peach-gold toning
endows most of this coruscating Choice half, though the margins
offer narrow bands of cobalt-blue and ruby-red. The strike is
precise except for soft radials on stars 7 through 10. Nearly
unabraded aside from a few faint marks on the cheek. O-101 and
O-102 are similar but can be distinguished by the 5 in the date.
Relative to O-101, O-102 has a flat top 5 placed further from the
