50/00 Blunder, Lettered Edge
1836 50C 50/00, Lettered Edge, O-116, R.2, MS62 PCGS. CAC. A
popular Guide Book variety. The die sinker entered the
denomination as 00 C instead of 50 C. The blunder was noticed, and
a 5 was entered over the first 0. This satiny example is
predominantly tan-gray, although the reverse shows a few freckles
of golden-brown and violet toning. Only lightly abraded. The stars
