Gem 1836 Lettered Edge Half With Variegated Toning
O-117
1836 50C Lettered Edge MS65 NGC. O-117, R.3. Star 8 is recut
on this die marriage, and the date is quite low. The first line of
stripe 2 is solid to the second crossbar. This deeply and
originally toned Gem offers iridescent green, blue, and gold patina
over each side. The toning gives the underlying lustrous surfaces a
completely original appearance. A solid MS65 that displays a
reasonably good strike, save for the motto on the reverse.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24G2, PCGS# 6169, GSID# 6213)
