1836 O-115 Half Dollar, MS63
Repunched Date, Lettered Edge
1836 50C Lettered Edge, O-115, R.3, MS63 PCGS. BHNC Die
State 115.1. The 8 in the date is clearly repunched north. Stars 5
and 12 are also repunched, and a diagonal line passes through the
shield. This lustrous half dollar has a tick on the chin and
cheekbone, but is unusually unmarked for the MS63 level. Glimmers
of golden-brown toning accompany peripheral elements. As usual for
O-115, the strike is incomplete on the left-side stars and the RIB
in PLURIBUS.Ex: Liberty Rare Coins (12/14/2014).
